Ken Harrison

The President and Founder of Rain Insure is Ken Harrison.  Prior to the inception of Rain Insure, he had honed his industry acumen as a lifetime as a farmer, agronomist, insurance agent, insurance adjuster, trade association manager, and finally as an insurance program development manager.

He served 10 years in the seed corn industry becoming a foundation seedsman for a large Eastern Illinois seed corn company.  He then worked 15 years in the Midwest crop insurance industry as adjuster, territory manager (IL, IN, OH, and MI), and 22 years working for National Crop Insurance Services (NCIS) and most recently at USDA's Risk Management Agency (RMA).  These experiences covering national and international issues, have positioned him perfectly to face the challenges and opportunities of Rain Insure clients.

Ken's national projects include: Hybrid Corn Seed, Group Risk Plan (GRP), Income Protection (IP), Corn Rootworm, Florida Fruit Tree, Risk Management Education (RME) Acting Director, Adjusted Gross Revenue (AGR).

Ken was born and raised on a Western Illinois grain and livestock farm and was active in the 4-H and FFA.  He is a graduate of Southern Illinois University, College of Agriculture. His wife Deb is an Eastern Illinois farm girl and they have three sons and four grandchildren.  They currently reside in Overland Park, KS.
